As we come to the end of 2020, we can’t help but feel both a sense of RELIEF AND Excitement FOR the many adventures that 2021 certainly has in store.

We touched base with our advisors to see where they are planning to travel as the world opens up. From their answers, it’s definitely apparent that the 6 Degrees team cannot wait to get back out into this big, beautiful world of ours! Keep reading to find out where our advisors are headed (and hopefully get some inspiration to inspire your own travels).

01

Peru & Greece

I was supposed to take my family to Peru in October 2020, but we had to push it for obvious reasons. The best times to visit Peru are April/May and September/October, so we have our fingers crossed for May 2021! I am most looking forward to Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba, the Belmond Andean Explorer overnight train, and Titilaka, the beautiful lodge on the shores of Lake Titicaca!

I was also supposed to go to Greece in 2020 on a scouting trip to see the Myconian collection with our friends at Lush Experiences! I can’t wait to see these amazing properties firsthand - they are all so different! The flagship - Myconian Ambassador - is one of my favorites!

Fiji, Panama, OR MALDIVES

Honestly, an expansive villa or private island with all of my favorite travel industry colleagues sounds so perfect. I’m thinking Royal Davui in Fiji, Isla Secas in Panama, or Joali in the Maldives?

Bolivia

I am renting a deluxe airstream camper and exploring the Bolivian salt flats with any of my friends or family who wants to go!

Thailand

I’d like to take the Thailand trip that I’ve postponed three times! Excited to experience city life in Bangkok, with home base at The Siam. Stop two is the Four Seasons Golden Triangle Tented Camp for amazing elephant encounters...and finish it all up with three nights on the beach at the stunning Six Senses Yoa Noi!

05

Chile & Lapland

I definitely want to go on a South American adventure with my boyfriend. We’ve been talking about it for years. The plan would be to adventure and explore in Patagonia - possibly staying at explora Patagonia - and then head to the Chilean wine country for a stay at Vik Chile.

A winter getaway in Lapland is also high on the list. I have been dreaming of sleeping in a glass igloo admiring the Northern Lights by night and exploring Lapland by dogsled during the day.

Sri Lanka

I am hoping to go to Sri Lanka since my trip was canceled this past July. Our itinerary included Yala National Park, the scenic train ride from Kandy to Ella, and a visit to the beautiful Ceylon tea trails. I hope to go in December 2021 and cannot wait to experience all Sri Lanka has to offer - from exotic wildlife safaris to tropical beaches.

07

Peru, Columbia, & Argentina

When borders open up, I want to spend a whole month exploring Peru, Colombia and Argentina, three countries that were on my 2020 bucket list.

In Peru, I want to hike the world-famous Machu Picchu, an ancient Incan city high in the Andes mountains, and explore the region around Machu Picchu, including the Sacred Valley, Inca Trail and colonial city of Cusco is rich with history and culture.

Colombia’s gastronomy, art & design scene is making waves globally. Renowned for having some of the best coffee in the world, Colombia is also a foodie’s heaven.

One cannot visit Argentina and not explore the spectacular Andes Mountain range in the west and the Iguazú Waterfalls in the east. If time allowed I would head down south to the region of Patagonia, shared by Argentina and Chile, which features arid steppes, grasslands and deserts on the Argentine side.

Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands

I would love to go to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands since my trip was cancelled in May 2020. We had the best-of-the-best on the itinerary - Casa Gangotena, Mashpi Lodge, Galapagos Safari Camp, and Hacienda Zuleta!

09

St. Barths, Australia, & New Zealand

Hopefully, my first big trip of 2021 will be to St. Barths! My twin brother and I will be turning 30 on Memorial Day Weekend, and I have been planning our 30th birthday getaway in a villa with friends and family!

My next big trip when the borders open - that has been on my list for forever - is Australia and New Zealand! I’ve been eyeing Eichardt’s Private Hotel in Queenstown.

Namibia & South Africa

My husband and I have just organized a much needed African dose in August. We'll begin our adventure in the vibrant, rich city of Johannesburg for a few nights at Pablo House. We'll then fly to Windhoek, Namibia where we'll hop in our rental car and drive to Boulders Safari Camp to explore the deep south of NamibRand Nature Reserve. Scenic drives, walking safaris treading along the ancient hunting grounds of the bushmen, eBiking, and crisp nights under the stars are how we plan to spend our days.

From Boulders, we'll then fly from Walvis Bay to Cape Town to spend a few nights in the city before embarking on a self-drive trip into the Karoo, stopping in the small country town of Robertson to stay at the lovely Robertson Small Hotel en route. Something a bit different than anything we've done in the past!
