Growing up in Indianapolis, Alliy admits that there wasn’t much to do or see. However, she was fortunate enough to be born into a family of avid travelers which meant she was able to explore the world at a young age.

Every summer her family would pick a destination (usually international) to visit such as Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the UK. But the trip that really sealed the deal for Alliy was the family’s first trip to Kenya when she was 17 - that experience changed the way she saw the world and she’s been hooked on traveling ever since.

Alliy has also been a competitive equestrian show jumper most of her life and the sport gave her the opportunity to travel all over the U.S. for competitions. Her favorite thing about travel is getting to not only see new places but to learn about the culture, as well. Alliy hopes to give others similar experiences to what she’s had, and she’s committed to designing trips that will leave an impact.

WHAT’S IN YOUR CARRY-ON?

I always have a book, phone charger and a sweater/socks with me. I'm always cold so the sweater is essential!

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE?

My most memorable experience was traveling to Kenya back when I was 17. I wasn't sure I wanted to even join my family on this trip but I'm so glad I did. I loved everything about it! I enjoyed meeting people and getting to know their culture. We were able to visit a couple schools and played games with the kids. But what I really loved was seeing so much wildlife - to see lions, elephants, giraffes, etc in the wild was really special. We loved it so much that we returned the next year and added Rwanda to the trip to see the gorillas!

WHICH DESTINATIONS ARE YOU PERSONALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO VISITING AND WHY?

My family and I already have a trip to Antarctica planned for later this year! This trip has been on my bucket list for years and I'm so excited to finally be able to go. I most looking forward to seeing the glaciers and wildlife. Orca whales are some of my favorite animals and any time I can see them in the wild is always a pleasure. And of course, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the penguins! We'll also be stopping in Chile during our voyage so I'll officially be able to check off all the continents after this trip!

WHAT DOES YOUR PERFECT VACATION DAY LOOK LIKE?

Waking up to beautiful views, good food, exploring the city and culture, ending the day with wine and a sunset
